What is the Advantage Golf Green System?
To get the look, feel and play with a synthetic putting green that compares to country club quality greens, we have spent twelve years perfecting our construction process. The result equates roughly to a nine- step process.
We begin by grading and shaping the existing area. Then, fabric is installed over the soil. Next six inches of three- quarter minus crushed stone is evenly spread out over the area and compacted. It is during the grading, shaping and installation of the crushed stone that we create the undulations and breaking characteristics of the green. We then spread one to two inches of screenings, this is a fine compactable material, that can be made very smooth. At this point we determine the number of cup locations and install the cups. After the cups are in place and the screenings have been made perfect, we install the exclusive Advantage bonded rubber compound. Step seven is laying out the Advantage Turf, seaming and cutting to shape. We then introduce sized, kiln dried sand into the fibers, with a final top dressing of green and black sand to give the greens an even more realistic look. The final step is to set the fibers to adjust the speed of the green.
These nine steps, when completed, produce a very consistent and true putting surface. The combination of the rubber compound, the length of our fibers and the sand formulation, allow our greens to stay soft over the years and to receive shots realistically from short chips to shots of over 200 yards.
